Records and Their Applications

In this talk record values of independent and identically distributed random variables are presented.. Some basic distributional properties of the record values of the univariate continuous as well as discrete distributions are given. Some Inferences based on record values of several types of univariate distributions are presented. Predictions of future record value of this class based on the past records record values are discussed. Some representation of records as sum of independent and identically distributed random variables are presented.
